"Greek Women in Wine" and "International Association Women in Wine" Profiles
Our Association "The Greek Women of Wine" was established in 1997 by a group of professional women from the world of wine.
Our members (133) are women who have made their careers in the various fields of winemaking. They include vintners, oenologists, viticulturists, wine producers, wine writers, sommeliers, food and beverage managers, marketing directors, and in general all those associated with the wine profession.
Our aim is:
 | To improve and increase the general public’s knowledge of wines
| | To contribute to the education of the wine consumer
| | To inform the public about the positive health benefits of wine
| | To promote the cultural aspects of wine
| | To enhance quality in wine |
Our activities are:
| Educational seminars
| | Informative events
| | Wine tastings
| | Gastronomic symposiums
| | Visits to wineries and vineyards
| | Discussions, presentations of wine and wine-related subjects.
| | Exchanges and programs at local, regional, national, European and international level, regarding issues that affect the wine industry |
The association of the Greek Women of Wine has only 7 years of existence, but has contributed significantly to the recognition of the Greek wines and varieties within and out of Greece.

Also I would like to mention to you that the idea of forming an International Association was conceived in Athens Greece four years ago with the initiative or our Association, (during a wine trade fair OENORAMA) and few months later the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATED WOMEN IN WINE was founded in Madrid.
Members of this International Association are women involved in wine - related activities from all over the world such as Spain, Greece, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, France, Austria and now we are expanding the group dynamically with more countries.
The association's target is to expand and coming to contact with other Associations of different wine producing countries of the world such as the United States, Chile, Australia and so on.
The aim of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATED WOMEN IN WINE, is to promote the intelligent consumption of wine and to develop the cultural side of the wine world by:
| Exchanging information and experience between their members
| | Supporting women working in the filed of wine
| | Organizing educational activities both for professionals and consumers |
